2008 Colorado State Fair FoamFest Results

The 5th annual Foamfest presented by the Colorado State Fair and The Colorado Institute of Brewing, was held Saturday August 23rd. Breweries from across the country competed in twenty-seven style categories.

The addition of a new brewery is almost always an agreeable happening. Another source for fermented libations helps to diversify the existing beer population, and generally encourages brewers not to “rest on their laurels”. If you haven't already read or heard about Trinity Brewing Company, then prepare to beginning salivating profusely. They've just finished construction, and will open their doors on Friday, August 29th.
6th Annual Craft Lager Fest

The 6th Annual Craft Lager Fest in Manitou Springs attracted another massive swell of beer lovers and geeks. Filtering in steadily from the continuous flow of travelers and scenery gawkers streaming through the main thoroughfare in Manitou, the small, half-moon shaped park hosting the event nearly busted at its foliage-covered seams.
America's Drunkest Cities

Austinites whooped it up at top the list, with Milwaukeeans, San Franciscans, Providentials, and Chicagoans staggering along close behind. 28 other besotted cities were ranked as well. Curiously, Denver was not among the top 15 drunkest cities.
Beer Map in Liquor Stores

"Hey - I’m not putting that in my store ‘till you get it approved by Liquor Enforcement. They could shut me down because it’s not on The List”. The owner of my go-to liquor store in Colorado Springs was among the first retailers I talked with, and he thought his customers might buy a few maps. But he would not carry our map in his store without the blessing of the State of Colorado.
